What happened

Dallas County cut early voting satellite locations to just two one-day sites for the 2026 midterm elections. The two sites are the McCreary Community Building in Perry, open October 27, and Heartland Presbyterian Church in Clive, open October 29. The county had five satellite locations during the 2024 general election and five days of access at two sites during the 2026 primary.1

Iowa Democratic Party Chair Rita Hart called on Auditor Todd Halbur and the Dallas County Board of Supervisors to have done better and encouraged residents to make a plan to vote at one of the two locations.1
