Department of Homeland Security Secretary Markwayne Mullin warned noncitizens on Election Day that the department will find and prosecute anyone who votes illegally in the midterms. Mullin posted on X that DHS will hunt you down and that only American citizens should decide American elections. ICE echoed the warning on social media, writing there will be no escape.1

The Justice Department has accused California of having more than 20,000 likely noncitizens on its voter rolls, a claim disputed by outside analyses.1
