“Are police allowed at Pennsylvania polling places on Election Day?”, Friday, October 30, 2026
What happened
Pennsylvania state officials reminded voters that police are barred within 100 feet of polling places during voting hours on Election Day. Secretary of State Al Schmidt said during an Oct. 27 media briefing that the same restrictions apply to military personnel. State officials said that federal immigration enforcement agents entering polls would violate state and federal law as well as the state election code.1
Schmidt said that Justice Department poll monitors have no greater access than members of the public.1
