What happened

Ohio voters cast ballots Tuesday under updated rules requiring mail-in absentee ballots to be received at the board of elections by the time polls close at 7:30 p.m., rather than by a postmark deadline. Washington County Board of Elections director Mandy Amos said voters who have not yet mailed their ballots should hand-carry them to the office or use the secure drop box before 7:30 p.m. The local post office is working to deliver any remaining ballots before the cutoff.1
