What happened

Maricopa County mailed ballots on October 7, 2026. Some voters had not received them more than a week later. Recorder Justin Heap cited a high volume of ballots and recent operational changes at the U.S. Postal Service.1

Heap said voters who still lack a ballot by the end of the week should contact his office for a replacement, and noted similar delays occurred during the primary.1
