What happened

Daniel Rogers, chairman of the Potter County Republican Party, is suing to block certification of Texas' November 3 election results unless officials hand-count every paper ballot in the state. Rogers has a history of promoting election denial claims. In a June 2025 interview, Rogers claimed without evidence that 17 counties recorded more votes than registered voters in 2020.1

The allegation echoes false claims spread after 2020 by Heather Honey, who now holds a senior position at the Department of Homeland Security.1
