What happened
The NAACP sued the Department of Justice on Friday to block the Trump administration from deploying 1,000 poll monitors nationwide during the November 3 midterm elections. The complaint was filed in the U.S. District Court for D.C. The complaint argues the monitoring plan amounts to voter intimidation under the Voting Rights Act and cites public statements by Attorney General Todd Blanche and Assistant Attorney General Harmeet Dhillon.1
The NAACP is also seeking a complete list of jurisdictions targeted for monitoring.1
