What happened

The Michigan Election Observation Project trained more than 40 Northern Michigan University students and retirees in Marquette County on Sunday to observe polls from open to close on Election Day. Regional Coordinator Max Bone said volunteers will document election procedures against Michigan state law, checking items such as zero tapes, seal numbers, and polling location opening times, while following a nonpartisan code of conduct. Marquette County is the only Upper Peninsula county participating in the statewide effort.1
