What happened
Two Wisconsin state representatives, Angelina Cruz of Racine and Tip McGuire of Kenosha, raised concerns after a constituent reported that Amazon, as of August, began counting personal time off toward the three hours of paid voting leave required by state law. The constituent also reported that Amazon offered one worker only 30 minutes off before polls closed. The Wisconsin Elections Commission issued an advisory opinion on September 9 finding such a policy in conflict with state law.1
