Wisconsin Supreme Court will hear case on extended polling hours
The court agreed to review a challenge over whether judges may extend voting hours when disruptions occur on Election Day.
The Wisconsin Supreme Court agreed to hear Democratic National Committee v. Boehm, a case that could determine whether state judges may extend polling hours when Election Day disruptions threaten voting access. The court announced Monday it would review the case, which stems from wait times of up to five hours at two Whitewater polling places during the November 2024 presidential election. The court denied the DNC's request for expedited consideration, placing it on a standard briefing schedule that means no ruling before the November midterms.1
