What happened

Broward County Supervisor of Elections Joe Scott urged voters to cast ballots early in person rather than by mail due to U.S. Postal Service delays. Scott said his office received complaints from voters who never received requested mail ballots. Others reported completed ballots sitting at postal facilities, including a batch from Hallandale Beach that sat at a facility for about a week.1

Local Postal Service officials said the concerns have been elevated to Postal Inspection Service headquarters in Washington, D.C.1
