Democrats sued to block Trump administration threats to election officials

What happened

Three national Democratic organizations, the Nevada Democratic Party, Senate Democratic leader Chuck Schumer, House Democratic leader Hakeem Jeffries and a California naturalized citizen voter filed suit Tuesday in the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia. The suit asks a federal court to block President Trump and his administration from threatening state and local election officials with criminal prosecution. The suit also asks the court to block the administration from pressuring states to remove voters from the rolls.1
