What happened

Hundreds of North Carolina mail-in ballots have been disqualified because voters did not seal the inner envelope under a new rule added last month by the state's Republican-led elections board. State elections board spokesman Jason Tyson defended the rule as a safeguard against tampering. Brooks Fuller of Common Cause North Carolina called the rejections harmless oversights.1
