What happened

Maricopa County election officials held a news conference Monday to address the presence of federal monitors and promise a smooth Election Day on Tuesday. Deputy Elections Director Jennifer Liewer said federal observers were also present for the primary and past elections. Board of Supervisors Chair Kate Brophy McGee said the county has backup plans in place.1

Officials confirmed weekend flooding did not affect polling locations, with two exceptions due to power outages. The county anticipated 250,000 voters would vote in person and another 250,000 would drop off ballots in person on Election Day.1
