What happened

Florida requires all counties to follow a rigorous state framework for counting and verifying votes in the November 2026 election, with each county operating within rules set by the Florida Division of Elections. Certified voting systems come from either Liberty Vote Voting Systems or Election Systems and Software. Each tabulation machine is programmed with a number specific to the election and precinct so that ballots cannot be run through a machine assigned to a different precinct.1
