What happened

Heavy rain and flash flooding in Florida forced officials to move several polling stations on Monday ahead of Election Day. Gov. Ron DeSantis declared a state of emergency in seven Atlantic seaboard counties. At least four precincts in St. Lucie County and five in Brevard County were moved.1

About 22 inches of rain fell over 24 hours in Palm Bay, the hardest-hit community, prompting water rescues and evacuations.1
